My Family Traits

<----[New Years party]

In my family, no one has a narrow nose. We all have rounded Everyone has really dark hair but sometimes we dye it. I also have dark brown eyes. I am full Filipino, just like everyone in my immediate family. Everyone in my family almost has all the same traits. I guess that all our alleles were the same too.

We all have unattached earlobes. We all have darkish-tan skin, but my sisters are darker because they hang out in the sun alot. We all have wide opened eyes. We all have thick eyebrows, but the girls wax them. It's funny how people want to change the way the look.

Why is Understanding Heredity Important?

Understanding heredity is important because it's a way to find out your attributes, and possibly your ansestors. You probably look like your parents, right? If not, your adopted, or you have their recessive traits. Thats heredity. Heredity means "the passing of traits from the parents to offspring" So you could either inherit a dominant or recessive trait. If your mom had brown eyes and that was her dominant, and your dad's recessive trait was yellow, you would get brown because thats the dominant trait.

You can find more info about heredity here.

Dominant Or Recessive

A dominant trait is a trait that is always present. if someones alleles is Ff, the the F is a dominant trait. If the Phenotype for the person is F=black hair and f=Blue hair, then the person will get black hair because his/hers dominant allele is black hair. A recessive trait is a trait that gets hidden by the strong one, so it does not appear in the organism. Your parents give you 23 chromosomes each, so thats a total amount of 46 chromosomes. If you find out which is dominant or recessive, you could use a punnett square to determine what would be dominant or recessive.

If you use a punnett square to find which if your traits you have, it's easier to determine what your kids will look like because if you combine them with the other parents traits, you could get a rough idea of what you're baby will look like. I have dark brown hair because both of my parents do, and their parents do, so the trait for brown hair must be dominant. That is the same with my rounded nose and brown eyes.

What Do I Think My Child Will Look Like

I think my child would look like me and my wife put together, depending who's traits are dominant and/or recessive. All I know is that he/she will have brown eyes from me, free earlobes, no dimples, and black straight hair. The baby would be at least half Filipino, from me. I guess it all depends on what my wife's genes are.

If I had a list of all my traits and knew which ones were dominant or recessive, i could probably figure out what half of him/her would look like. He/she would have a round nose because no one in my family has a narrow nose. I'm pretty positive that my baby would look like me. it depends what my wife looks like. she could be any race.

Inherited Social Behaviors

 -Hey ugly

           |--------------|
           |WHAT!?!?    >
           |___________|

Inherited social behaviors are behaviors that members of a group do together. Like their behaviors "rub off" on you. its kind of like you adapt to them to fit in, and your not the weird, awkward one of the group that does contrasting things to what the group members do. some inherited behaviors could be: way of speech. some people that are in a group can communicate differently from others to make it easier to talk and understand. An example could be pidgeon talk. A regular sentence could be "Did you get that text message i sent you this morning?" and in pidgeon speak it could turn into somthing like this: "Eh, you get dat text message i sent you dis monin?!?" They could talk they this to make it easier to communicate and won't take that long to say.

Some inherited behaviors that i've got from my group of peoples is we greet each other not by names, but by something else random, such as: "Hey ugly" then we continue with the conversation. We don't mean the things we say, it's just to get their attention. Also, we may do some of these little pranks/tricks to each other such as, tap their left or right shoulder, then walk around them, out of their view, then continue with the conversation.
